PARTITION OF BENGAL
INTRODUCTION:- The decision to effect the partation of bengal was announced on 19th july 1905 by viceroy of india Lord Curzon .the partation took place on 16 october 1905 & separate the largely muslim eastern areas from the largely hindu western areas. LORD CURZON REASON BEHIND PARTATION:- OFFICIAL REASON : (i)Less Administration Burden on Government. (ii) Deal with Finnance an Defence. (iii)Attend to Remote Areas ACTUAL REASONS:- (i) Weaken the National Movement (ii) Policy of Devide & Rule (iii)Reactionary Politics of Lord curzon to show that the opinion of the political leaders had no meaning.
