Ans. The Earth is composed of three main parts. They are :

i.           Lithosphere ( the sphere of rocks)

ii.     Hydrosphere ( the sphere of water)

iii.   Atmosphere ( the sphere of air)

Ans. The Earth is shaped like an orange, slightly flattened at the poles and  with a bulge at the Equator, it is called a Geoid – a word which merely means earth-shaped.

Ans. The Earth is known as a unique planet as life exists on it. ... The Earth has an atmosphere which is made up of gases like oxygen, nitrogen and carbon dioxide. While the Ozone layer prevents the harmful rays of the Sun from entering into the Earth, carbon dioxide traps the Sun's heat, keeping the planet warm.

Ans. The process by which solar energy is transferred to molecules is called Photochemical Process. Example of photochemical process is Photosynthesis.

Ans.  A  small rocky body orbiting the sun. Large numbers of these, ranging enormously in size, are found between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter, though some have more eccentric orbits.

10.Define Satellites.

Ans. Heavenly  bodies that revolve around large planets like the Moon  orbiting Earth.
